Granting Permissions

The REDENES Mobile App needs several device permissions to work correctly in the field. You'll be asked to grant them during setup.

1) Review the list of permissions​

The Permissions screen explains what each permission is used for:

  • Location — Your position on the map and GPS tracking
  • Notifications — Incident alerts and messages
  • Microphone — Voice calls and push-to-talk audio
  • Camera — Photo capture for incidents and chat
  • Photos — Attaching existing pictures
  • Bluetooth — Connecting to radios and accessories
  • Contacts — Syncing your agency directory

2) Tap Continue​

Tap Continue to begin the individual permission prompts.

3) Allow each permission​

When the system prompt appears for each permission, tap Allow (iOS) or While using the app / Allow (Android).

For location, choose Always Allow so you can send your position and receive nearby incidents even when the app is in the background.

If you skip a permission, features that need it will be disabled. You can re-enable them later in your device's system settings.
