Translate Session Detail
See every translated line in one session, and replay any voice recordings.
This screen is the full contents of a single translation session. Each entry shows what was said or typed, what it was translated to, and the time it happened. Lines that came from speech carry their own small audio player, so you can hear exactly what was recorded rather than relying on the transcription.

Overview
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Header | Shows the session name, which is its date and time |
| Original text | The text that was typed or spoken on the sending side |
| Converted text | The translated result |
| Time | The time that line was created, in a 12-hour clock with AM or PM in capitals, shown against both the original and the converted text |
| Audio player | Appears only on lines that were created by voice |
| Play button | Starts or stops the recording for that line |
| Progress bar | Fills as the recording plays |
| Duration | The length of the recording, shown as minutes and seconds |
| Back button | Returns to the Translate Sessions list |
| Return to Mobile Data Com button | Only appears when you reached Translate from the Mobile Data Com area |
| Line type | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Typed on either side | Original text, converted text, and time — no audio controls |
| Spoken on either side | The same, plus a play button, progress bar, and duration |
The screen is read-only. Lines cannot be edited, re-translated, deleted, or exported from here, and there is no search.
Getting Here
- Open the app to Home.
- Tap Translate.
- Tap the three-dot button, then tap Logs.
- Tap the session you want. This screen opens with its lines.
The header repeats the session's date and time so you can confirm you opened the right one.
Reviewing a Session
- Read down the list. Lines appear in the order they were translated, oldest first.
- Each line shows the original text above and the converted text below, with the time beside both.
- Use the times to line the conversation up against your own notes or the incident timeline.

When the transcription reads oddly, play the recording. Dictation errors are common with names, street names, and numbers, and the audio is the reliable record of what was actually said.
Playing a Recording
- Find a line that shows the audio player and tap its Play button.
- The recording starts, the button shows as active, the progress bar advances, and the duration counts up as elapsed time.
- Tap the same button again to stop. Playback stops and the line resets.
- Tapping a different line's play button stops whatever is playing and starts the new recording, so only one line ever plays at a time.
- When a recording finishes, the line returns to showing the total length.
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| No player on the line | That line was typed, not spoken |
| Player shown, tapping does nothing | The recording file is no longer on the device |
| Duration counting up | The recording is playing |
| Duration back at the total | Playback stopped or finished |

Playback needs the recording file still on the device. If storage was cleared or the app was reinstalled, the line keeps its text but the audio cannot be played back.
Going Back
- Tap Back to return to the Translate Sessions list.
- Any playing recording stops when you leave.
- If you arrived from the Mobile Data Com area, use the Return to Mobile Data Com button.
Following a Two-Sided Conversation
A session holds both directions of the exchange, mixed together in time order, so read it as a transcript rather than as two columns.
- Start at the top and work down — the earliest line is first.
- For each line, the upper text is what was said or typed, and the lower text is the translation that was shown or spoken.
- Use the times to tell the two speakers apart when the language pair does not make it obvious.
- Play the audio on any line where the wording matters.
| What you see | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| A line with an audio player | Someone spoke it into the device |
| A line with no player | It was typed |
| Two lines a few seconds apart | A question and its answer |
| A long gap between lines | The conversation paused, or the screen was left and returned to |
Using a Session as a Working Record
| Use it for | Do not rely on it for |
|---|---|
| Checking what you told someone | An official statement or transcript |
| Re-reading an address or a name | Proof of what a person meant |
| Confirming a dictation error | Anything that has to leave this device |
| Replaying audio to a colleague nearby | Sharing — there is no export |
Translations are machine output and dictation is imperfect. For anything consequential — a name, an address, a medical detail — play the audio, confirm it with the person, and write the confirmed version into the proper record.
What This Screen Does Not Do
| You might expect | Reality |
|---|---|
| Editing or correcting a line | Not possible; the screen is read-only |
| Re-translating a line | Go back to the Translate screen and redo the phrase |
| Deleting a line or the session | No delete option |
| Sharing or exporting the audio or text | None |
| A search field | None; scroll the list |
| A scrub bar to move within a recording | The progress bar shows position but cannot be dragged |
How This Connects
- Where the lines come from. They are read from this device's own storage, written by the Translate screen as each translation finished — see Translate. Nothing is fetched, so the screen is instant and works with no signal.
- What the audio is. The recording captured while the Speak button was orange, kept on the device for playback. A copy is also uploaded in the background for your organization's records; whether that upload succeeded does not change what you can play here.
- Length comes from the recording. The duration shown is the length measured while recording, which is what the progress bar is drawn against — a very short clip can therefore look like it jumps straight to the end.
- How you got here. Sessions are listed in Translate Sessions, which is reached from the Logs option on the Translate screen.
- Audio sharing the speaker. Playback uses the device speaker and takes it over from other app audio, so a radio or call feed may duck or pause — see Audio Channels and Choose Speaker.
- Date and time display. Line times use a 12-hour clock; the session name in the header follows App Defaults.
- Offline and reconnect. Fully available offline, including audio playback. Reconnecting changes nothing on this screen.
Troubleshooting
| If this happens | What to do |
|---|---|
| A line has no audio player | It was typed rather than spoken. Only voice lines carry audio. |
| The play button does nothing | The recording file is missing from the device. The text of the line is still accurate. |
| You hear nothing while it appears to play | Raise the device volume and check it is not silenced or routed to another output. |
| Two recordings overlap | They cannot. Starting one stops the other; if the sound is doubled it is coming from elsewhere in the app. |
| The progress bar jumps to the end | The recording is very short. Tap play again and listen closely. |
| The duration looks wrong | It is the length measured during recording, which can differ slightly from the file itself. |
| The converted text looks wrong | Play the audio to hear what was actually captured, then redo the phrase on the Translate screen. |
| The session appears empty | No line finished saving in that session. Go back and open another session. |
