Weather Tabs
Switch between your location and a forecast location, and between daily and hourly forecasts.
Weather Tabs is the forecast screen for one place. A summary card at the top gives the current conditions, and beneath it two tabs let you read the forecast day by day or hour by hour. Days and hours both collapse and expand, so you can keep the list short while you scan and then open just the period you care about.

The active tab is underlined and its label turns red. You can also swipe sideways between them.
A location card labelled Your Location is the reading for your own position. Any other tab is named after the place you saved. Your position needs location permission; without it that tab has nothing to show.
The summary card

The forecast tabs

Getting Here
- Open Home, then tap Weather.
- On the Weather tab, tap a forecast location card.
- You can also tap a location pin on the Map tab.
Switching Location and Forecast Type
- Use the top tabs to move between Your Location and the saved location.
- Use Daily and Hourly to choose the forecast type.
- The summary card and the list below both follow your choice.
Reading the Daily Forecast
Each day is a collapsed section header until you open it.

| Date | The weekday name and the date, such as "Tuesday, 12 February 2026" |
| Average temperature | The average across all of that day's periods, in your unit system |
| Conditions | The most frequent short forecast across the day, so a day that is mostly cloudy reads "Mostly Cloudy" |
| Arrow | Points right when collapsed, down when open |
- Tap a day header to open it. The periods within that day appear as rows.
- Tap a period row to expand it in place. It grows to show the weather icon, the temperature, the short forecast and the quick-view values your agency has enabled.
- Tap the row's header again to collapse it.
- Tap the row itself to open Weather Details with the complete set of values for that period.
Use Daily when you are planning across days — a multi-day incident, a training weekend, a burn window. The average temperature and dominant conditions on each header are enough to pick the day without opening anything.
Reading the Hourly Forecast

- Tap an hourly header to open it.
- Each row beneath shows the period's time, its temperature, its icon, its short forecast and the quick-view values.
- Tap a row to open Weather Details.
Use Hourly when conditions are changing during an operation — a wind shift, a front arriving, a temperature drop overnight. It is the tab to check before committing crews for the next few hours.
Quick View and Detailed View
Two separate sets of measurements are in play, both chosen by your agency rather than by you.

That is why an expanded row shows a handful of values while the details screen for the same period shows many more.
The number of values in the quick-view set changes how tall an expanded row is, so a row with eight enabled values is noticeably taller than one with two. If your agency changes the enabled set while you have the screen open, the lists rebuild themselves.
Units and Date Format

Both come from your account settings in General App Settings.
Working Offline

Check Updated at to judge how old the forecast is. Reconnecting and reopening the Weather screen is what brings in newer numbers.
How This Connects
- Where the data comes from. The whole forecast for this place — every day and every hour — comes from the National Weather Service, fetched for your saved location and stored on your device with a refresh timestamp. This screen reads that copy, which is why it is fully browsable offline.
- Weather. The location is one of your saved forecast locations on the Weather screen. The card there shows the quick-view summary; this screen is the full forecast behind it.
- Weather Details. Tapping any period opens Weather Details with the complete detailed-view grid for that single period.
- Map layers. This screen is the point forecast for one spot. For conditions across an area, and for watching a system move, use Visualization mode on the Weather screen with the Weather Timeline.
- Weather alerts. A forecast tells you what is expected; an official declaration over an area is separate. See Zone Alert Detail for warnings and advisories.
- Incidents. The weather popup on an incident's command screens draws on the same forecast data — see Command Weather Forecast.
- Adding locations. Locations reach this screen by being added from the Weather screen, using the same place search as Search Event Location.
- Offline and reconnect. Nothing here needs a connection to read. A reconnect plus a visit to the Weather screen refreshes the forecast for every saved location.
Troubleshooting
| If this happens | What to do |

| The Your Location tab is empty | Location permission was declined, or there is no fix yet. Grant it in your phone's settings and reopen. |
| A day header shows no temperature | That day has no forecast periods yet. Days at the far end of the forecast fill in as it extends. |
| Tapping a day does nothing visible | Tap the header row itself. The arrow flips from right to down when it opens. |
| An expanded row shows no values | Your agency has not enabled any quick-view measurements. The full grid on Weather Details uses a separate set. |
| Rows look very tall or very short | Row height follows how many quick-view values your agency has enabled. |
| Temperatures are in the wrong unit | Your account's unit system is set in General App Settings. |
| Icons are blank | Icons load from the network. Read the short forecast text, or reconnect. |
| Updated at is hours old | Reconnect, reopen the Weather screen so the location refreshes, then come back. |
| The hourly list seems short | The forecast only extends so far ahead. Use Daily for the longer view. |
| Day headers show a different format than you expect | Change your date format in General App Settings. |
