Certifications Data
Check who holds which qualifications across the incident, viewed three different ways.
Certifications Data answers the question "do we have the right qualifications on scene?" It cross-references every person on the command board against your agency's certification list and shows the result in three tabs: by person, by unit, and by certification. Every row carries a count in parentheses and expands to show the detail behind it.

The three tabs sit on a sliding panel, so you can tap a tab name or swipe left and right between them. The active tab is shown in red with a red underline beneath it.
There is no search on this screen and rows cannot be tapped through to a contact card. It is a read-only coverage check. Use Command Resources when you need to search for a person or open their details.
Getting Here
- Open an incident and switch to the Command view.
- Open the command tools menu.
- Choose Certifications.
- The popup opens on the By User tab with every row collapsed.
View by User
- Tap By User, or swipe to it. Rows are people, sorted alphabetically by name.
- Each row reads as the person's name followed by the number of certifications they hold, for example
Sam Rivera (3). - Tap a row to expand it. The arrow turns downward and each certification is listed by name underneath. Tap again to collapse.
A person assigned to more than one unit appears only once on this tab, and their certifications are merged so you see the complete set in one place. That is why a head count added up from this tab can be lower than the personnel total in Command Resources.
View by Unit
- Tap By Unit. Rows are units, sorted alphabetically, each reading as the unit name and its head count, such as
Engine 1 (4). - Tap a unit to expand it into its members, sorted alphabetically by name. Each member row shows their name and their own certification count.
- Tap a member to expand them again and list their certifications by name.
- Collapse any level by tapping its header again.
Use this tab when you are deciding what a single crew can safely be given. It shows a unit's whole qualification picture in one place, without you having to look up each member separately.
View by Certification
- Tap Certification. Rows are the certifications defined for your agency, each followed by how many people on the incident hold it, such as
Paramedic (2). - Tap a certification to list everyone on the incident who holds it. Each person shows an initials badge, their name, and the unit they are on, as
Sam Rivera - Engine 1. - A certification nobody on scene holds still appears, with
(0)beside it and nothing inside when expanded.
Start here when you need to fill a specific role, such as a hazmat technician or a paramedic. The count tells you whether you have coverage at all, and expanding tells you who and where.
Loading and Empty States

A count of (0) can mean either that nobody holds the qualification or that certifications have not been recorded for those people yet. An empty Certification tab almost always means the agency certification list has not reached this device. Do not read an empty result as proof that coverage is missing.
How This Connects
This screen is a cross-reference built fresh each time it opens, from two different sources.
- The incident's command board supplies the units and the people on them, along with the certifications recorded against each person. That is the same roster behind Command Resources, Unit Overview, and PAR, so a person missing here is missing from the board, not from this screen.
- Your agency's certification list, cached on this device, supplies the certification names. That list is maintained for the agency and reaches the app by syncing. Until it has synced, certifications can only be shown as counts of zero, because the app has no names to match against.
The cross-reference is worked out when the popup opens, so it is a snapshot. Adding a unit to the board while the popup is open does not change what you are looking at; close and reopen it.
Offline the screen still works, using the board and the certification list the device already holds. A certification added for your agency, or a qualification recorded against a responder, after your last sync will not appear until the app syncs again. If coverage is safety-critical, confirm it on the radio rather than relying only on this view.
Troubleshooting

| A unit you just added is not listed | The tabs are built when the popup opens. Tap Close and choose Certifications again. |
| The personnel numbers do not match Command Resources | By User merges a person who is on more than one unit into a single row; Command Resources counts them once per board position. |
| Tapping a name does nothing | This screen is read-only. Open contact cards from Command Resources or Unit Overview. |
