Edit & Collapse Sections

Tidy up long forms by collapsing the sections and rows you have already handled.

Long Server UI forms can run to many sections, and this screen decides which of them stay open. You get a checklist of every section on the form, with its rows listed beneath, each with its own checkbox. Collapsing the parts you are done with keeps the form focused so your attention goes to what still needs filling out.

Overview

Part	What it does
Section header	A group title with a checkbox. Tap it to collapse or expand the whole section.
Row	An individual item inside a section, each with its own checkbox.
Filled checkbox	That section or row is collapsed, so it is hidden on the form.
Empty checkbox	That section or row is expanded, so it shows on the form.
Save	Applies your choices back to the form.
Back control	Closes the screen and leaves the form's layout as it was.

The list is built from the form itself, so it shows your agency's own section names in your agency's own order. A section with no rows appears as a header on its own, which you can still collapse.

Which Sections Can Be Collapsed

Not every part of a form is a group. Only the section types that hold their own rows appear here.

Section type	What its rows are
User information	The fields describing a person, such as name and contact details.
Vehicle information	The fields describing a vehicle.
Stopwatch	The timing rows belonging to that stopwatch.
Upload section	The individual attachments in that section.
Approval	The approvers listed for sign-off.

Plain headers, single text boxes, dropdowns, and buttons are rows rather than groups, so they are collapsed along with whichever section holds them.

Getting Here

1. Open a Server UI form with multiple sections.
2. Tap the edit or collapse control for the form.
3. The screen opens listing each section as a header with its rows beneath.
4. Every checkbox already shows the current state, so the list is a picture of how the form looks right now.

Collapsing and Expanding Sections

1. Tap a section header to toggle the whole section. Its checkbox switches between filled (collapsed) and empty (expanded).
2. Tap an individual row to toggle just that item, leaving the rest of the section as it is.
3. The list redraws immediately on each tap, so you can see the current state as you work.
4. Work down the form, collapsing the groups you have finished and leaving open the ones you still need.

What you tap	What changes
A section header with an empty box	That whole section collapses, and its rows stop showing on the form.
A section header with a filled box	That section expands again.
A row with an empty box	Just that row collapses.
A row with a filled box	Just that row expands.

note

A collapsed section hides its rows on the form but changes nothing you have entered. Expanding it again brings every answer back exactly as it was. Collapsing is a view setting, not a delete.

Saving Your Layout

1. When the list looks the way you want the form to look, tap Save.
2. Your choices are applied back to the form, which redraws with those sections hidden or shown.
3. To leave without applying anything, use the back control instead. The form keeps the layout it had when you arrived.

tip

On a phone, collapse every completed section before you hand the device to the next person. What remains on screen is then exactly what still needs doing, with no scrolling to find it.

Save the form itself as well. This screen only controls what is shown; your answers still reach your agency's records through the form's own save control.

Empty and Loading States

State	What you see	What it means
Normal	Sections with rows listed beneath	The form has collapsible groups.
Header with no rows	A section header on its own	That group has no rows yet, such as an empty upload section.
Empty list	No sections at all	The form is built from plain rows with no collapsible groups.
Unnamed section	A header with no title	Your agency did not label that group; its rows are still listed.

How This Connects

• Where the list comes from. It is read straight from the form you opened, so it always matches your agency's current layout. Administrators can also set a section to start collapsed, which is the state you will find here.
• Where your choices go. They are handed back to the form on your device, which redraws with them applied. Your collapse choices are about the view; the form's own save is what sends answers to your agency's records. See Data and Sync.
• Which other parts of the app use it. The same collapsing behaviour applies to forms opened from your logs, from reference screens (see Internal Files), from a call in the Incidents List, and inside a Form Popup.
• Offline and reconnect. Collapsing and expanding are entirely local and work with no coverage at all. Only the form's save needs a connection. See Offline Mode.

Troubleshooting

If this happens	What to do
A section vanished from the form	It is collapsed, not deleted. Open this screen, tap its header to clear the box, and Save.
Your collapse choices did not stick	You left with the back control. Set them again and tap Save.
A section you want to collapse is not listed	Only groups that hold rows are listed. Plain rows collapse with the section that contains them.
A header appears with nothing under it	That group has no rows yet. Add an attachment or approver on the form and it will list them.
The form still looks long	Collapse the completed groups as well as individual rows; a section header hides everything beneath it in one tap.
You are unsure whether data was lost	It was not. Expand the section and check; collapsing never clears an answer.
