Share Options
Choose between sending a form online or handing it off offline over Bluetooth with a QR code.
This version of the share screen adds an Online and an Offline option at the top so you can share a form even when there is no network. Online works exactly like the standard share screen, sending the form to a recipient by phone or email. Offline shows a QR code and uses a direct Bluetooth connection to push the form to a device beside you, which is what you want in the field when coverage is gone.
Overview
The screen is one card with two modes. The online mode mirrors the standard share fields; the offline mode handles a device-to-device transfer.

The selected tab is the one shown in red with an underline beneath it.
Getting Here
- Open the Server UI form you want to share.
- Tap the share control that offers online and offline options.
- The screen opens on Online if you have a connection, or Offline if you do not.
- Switch modes at any time by tapping Online or Offline at the top.
The app rechecks your connection whenever you return to it from elsewhere on the device, and moves you to the mode that will actually work. If you had deliberately chosen the other tab, tap it again.
Sharing Online
- Tap Online if it is not already selected.
- Enter the recipient's First Name and Last Name. Blank fields get you "Enter firstname" or "Enter lastname".
- Tap Type and choose Phone Number or Email Address. Leaving it on Select gets you "Please choose field type".
- Enter the value, or pull it from a directory contact and pick from that person's saved numbers or emails. Blank gets you "Please enter phone number" or "Please enter email".
- Set Password Required, Share Once, Share Forever, or an End Date as needed, then tap Share. Full detail on those rules is on Share a Form.
Sharing Offline over Bluetooth
Offline sharing moves the form straight to a device next to you, with no network involved.
- Tap Offline. A QR code appears, built from this screen's title, identifying your device as the sender.
- On the receiving device, open the matching Bluetooth scanner and scan your QR code. See BLE Scan Data for the receiving side, and Bluetooth Scan for the scanner itself.
- The connection label changes from Not Connected to a connected state once the other device joins.
- A moment later the transfer starts on its own. The progress ring appears and fills as the form's data goes across in chunks.
- When it finishes, the ring disappears and a "Data sent" message confirms the handoff. The receiving device shows "Data Received".

Offline sharing needs Bluetooth turned on. If it is off, the app shows a Bluetooth Off alert reading "Please turn on Bluetooth to use this feature." with Open Settings and Cancel. Keep both devices within arm's reach for the whole transfer.
The app picks the mode that will work for you, but you can always override it. Use Offline when you are out of coverage and the other person is right next to you; use Online when the recipient is somewhere else entirely.
How This Connects
- Where the shared data comes from. Both modes share the form you opened, as it has been saved. Save the form first so the recipient gets the current version.
- Where it goes online. The recipient and your access rules go to your agency's server, which issues the link and delivers it. The share is listed with your agency's other shared items; see Share Data.
- Where it goes offline. Nothing touches the server. The form's data is pushed directly to the other device, which stores it locally and can carry on working with it before either of you is back in coverage. See BLE Scan Data.
- Which other parts of the app are involved. Recipients come from the Directory, Bluetooth pairing and scanning live under Devices, and forms tied to a call are reachable from the Incidents List.
- Offline and reconnect. An online share is never queued: with no coverage the Share button does nothing, so use Offline instead and let the receiving device sync its copy when it next has a connection. See Offline Mode and Data and Sync.
Troubleshooting
| If this happens | What to do |

| Share does nothing on the Online tab | You have no connection. Switch to Offline, or wait until you are back in coverage. |
| The screen keeps jumping back to a tab | The app is following your connection each time you return to it. Tap the tab you want again. |
| The Bluetooth Off alert appears | Tap Open Settings, turn Bluetooth on, come back, and try again. |
| The other device cannot scan your QR code | Brighten your screen, hold it steady, and keep it filling their frame. Reopen Offline to redraw the code. |
| The connection label stays Not Connected | The other device has not joined. Have them scan again with both devices close together and Bluetooth on. |
| The Bluetooth transfer stalls part way | Keep the devices still and close, and leave both screens on. If it stops, wait for "Device disconnected", then start again from the QR scan. |
| "Device disconnected" appears | The link dropped. Nothing partial is kept on the receiving side; repeat the whole handoff. |
| The share link is not working for an online recipient | Check whether Share Once was on and already used, or the End Date has passed, then create a new share. |
